Description

In this presentation we will provide an overview of industrial applications of quantum technologies and how they may be leveraged in a future Quantum Internet based on entanglement distribution and deterministic network control to implement teleportation. Towards this goal, we will discuss recent efforts to create novel QKD network architectures for industrial communications systems and thoughts on industrial challenges associated with the full Quantum Internet architectures. A key concept in our architecture is the use of a software defined approach using Time Sensitive Networking, which may be leveraged for future architectures. We will also discuss efforts to create practical, low cost hardware technologies for QKD and how these approaches may be utilized for the future Quantum Internet, with the goal of widespread industrial application. The presentation will end with thoughts on these applications and pathways for collaborative efforts to enable the Industrial Quantum Internet.
